There is a romantic, lush and courtly feel to Medieval history. When you think of the medieval period in history, what images are conjured in your mind? Knights and castles? Pennants, armor, ornate jewels and crowns, deep jewel-toned colors? In reality, things were probably a little dirtier, a little more grim. In the Middle Ages, which spans from about 420 to 1500 AD (with a little wiggle room for scholarly debate), there was war, there was pestilence and plague- and a dearth of the arts. Reading was relegated to usually just the clergy, with the lord or lady sometimes being taught to read and cipher. And the people who lived on the lands did so for their liege, or Lord, owing their very existence, not to mention their labor, to him. It was a hard existence, but......
We usually gloss over those facts and and think of romantic and courtly aspects that were just beginning to emerge at the end of that time and went on to flourish in the Renaissance period. In "Medieval" by Microferk Designs, I tried to focus more on the medieval conventions, but also incorporated some Renaissance elements in order to make this kit more versatile. "Medieval" by Microferk Designs is the perfect kit for your Renaissance Fair layouts, as well as other costume and movie events, travel photos, even a good journaling piece that transports the reader into your deepest dreams and wishes. You'll find this collection a classic and one that adapts well to your needs.

In "Medieval Page Kit" by Microferk Designs, you get 16 beautifully blended, patterned and/or textured papers. You also get over 30 beautifully crafted elements. Elements include a round bronze and jewelled frame, a border of jewels set in a Celtic setting, an old medieval châtelaine's key, a knight's medallion, 2 real medieval coin artifacts, a shield with coat of arms, a "green man" journal spot, a cloak pin, an ornate girdle belt jewelry piece, a medallion on a chain, a knight's tapestry, a set of knights (including King Richard I and King Henry V of England), 4 individually crafted frames, a wide velvet ribbon wrap, a jewelry tag with and without string, a large castle journal spot, 2 smaller journal spots, a ladies' crown with jewels, a men's crown with jewels, a set of 4 flowers with pearl centers, 2 lines of pennants- vertical and horizontal, a large tattered tag on a string and a red wax seal.
Also included is an alpha set that includes upper case letters, numbers and 5 extra characters, 4 pictures and a blank piece, all set on antique parchment pieces!
Each element and alpha character is in its own file- no need to 'cut' apart.  All elements and papers are created at 300ppi, with papers saved as high-resolution jpgs for stunning print clarity, and elements saved as png files to preserve transparency. Drop shadows are only applied in instances where layering of pieces within an element necessitate shadowing for realism.

Also available separately as Medieval Papers, Medieval Elements, and Medieval Alphas by Microferk Designs
